Join the Rampart Search and Rescue Team

We appreciate your interest in joining Rampart Search and Rescue. We are an all volunteer origination and do not have any paid staff.

 

Rampart Search and Rescue invites anyone 21 years old with an interest in the outdoors and helping others to apply for membership. Previous search and rescue or emergency service experience is not required, but new members are expected to know basic camping, hiking, survival and other outdoor skills. New members have brought a wide variety of rescue, medical, and leadership skills to the team.

All members must provide their own apparel and personal equipment. Prospective members must live within thirty minutes of Adams County. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office performs background and DMV checks on all applicants and reserves the right to deny any membership.

 

To pass the background check, you must NOT:

  1. Have been convicted of a felony, imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary or of an offense involving dishonesty, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence, or the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance.
  2. Have been convicted of a D.U.I. within the previous five years beginning with the date of conviction to the date of application.

 

To submit an application, you must:

  • Be at least age 21 at time of application
  • Be a legal resident of the U.S.
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have a Colorado driver's license
  • Be a resident in ADAMS County or at least in the Denver metro area (i.e. within a 30 minute drive from Adams County)
  • Undergo a 12 month evaluation and “new members” training
  • Able to commit to a at least 12 to 20 hours a month for call outs and trainings
  • Include a non-refundable $20 processing fee with your application

There are minimum attendance requirements for members for both trainings and missions. Failure to meet minimum attendance may result in loss of field status and possible dismissal from the team. RSAR provides emergency services for the citizens of Adams and Lincoln Counties, members are expected to respond to call-outs when available.

Cadet program

 

For those between the ages of 10 - 20 interested in the field of search and rescue and emergency medical services, we have a search and rescue (SAR) Cadet program in our group.

 

 

Our Business Meetings

 

Our business meetings are every third Wednesday of the month 7PM at the Adams County Government Center, 4430 S. Adams County Pkwy. in Brighton, Colorado (use the West Entrance Door). Public is welcome to attend.
